Novak

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on the site so I just wanted to say thanks to Novak for his game saving play. If he doesn't knock that kick returner out of bounds, well... Let me be the first to welcome you to the team Nick. The next question of course is how long will you be here?

Any word on Hall? The 2 most important positions on the field IMO (besides coach) are QB and K (and not necessarily in that order). I've always liked Hall but I'm worried about his health. I'd even like the Skins to use one of their practice slots on a solid backup kicker just in case this guy isn't ready every week. With the parity in today's NFL, the kicking game IS that important.

He saved the game... my heart dropped into my stomach on that return, I thought he was gone and all I could think was "noooooooo we can't lose like this"!

Re: Novak

Yeah that was one of those "big little" plays that we tend to ignore in favor of the Taylor hits and deep bombs. Novak didn't get to show much in the kicking game but at least when we needed him to come up big he did what needed to be done. Bonus points from for that.

Re: Novak

as a terrapin for life...i won $10 bucks on nick the kick. Now think about this one ok? I bet that nick would win the game for the skins, and he did. he made the extra point that won us the game, after awhile of thinking about it, the guy i bet finally paid up. i know i'm bias towards terps....but honestly, when hall comes back we need to keep nick...maybe practice squad him if we can. any opinions?

he got noticed by Gibbs. yeah, pretty clutch coming in like that and affecting his first game. but his real value will only be judged on how good he kicks actual field goals.

Re: Novak

I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Cowboys would run back a huge kick return.

It's always very gutsy for kickers to have to be the guy to stop the returner...I, too, am waiting to see how he kicks real field goals!

Re: Novak

Good thread.

He really came through. Stayed in his lane, Kept the player between himself and the sidelines, didn't tried to tackle him, just get him out of bounds and stop the play.

Good team player, that.

Without him, just another loss to those damn boys.

Thanks Nick!!!

Re: Novak

putting a kicker on the ps wouldnt make sense cuz a team can just grab them if they are on ps. if u use a field player on ps he can help practice with the team and stuff. may as well release him and just sign him again if we need him

Re: Novak

I gotta say thanks to the guy too. I did notice that and I was gut-wrenched when he was kicking the extra points because I'd never seen him kick and all I kept hearing was that he missed like 4 extra pts in hi sr. year in college. That worried me a bit. However the kid did good on monday, and I hope he turns out to be a terrific NFL kicker.

Re: Novak

He totally saved a game ending TD there. When was Hall coming back? I wonder if Gibbs will give Novak a long hard look. If not someone will give this kid a shot I am sure.

Re: Novak

Let's also remember the extra points were huge. Remember how they rushed the line on the first one?

Didn't phase him.

Still basking....
