Re: How often does firing an NFL coach make things better?
I've always wondered how it is that some of these teams can be so bad for so long and then overnight be one of the best teams in the league. I can only factor in that each coaching staff and talent evaluators that come in and out the door do some parts right, and eventually it takes someone like Harbaugh to come along and make all of those pieces work.
Bruce Arians is another coach that has quickly turned the Cardinals around. I mean, I am so envious of the Cardinals right now. I can see Arians bringing the Lombardi home to Arizona sometime soon. I just hope Jay Gruden has what it takes to succeed in Washington. I'm about at the point where we need to just give Gruden as much time as needed - even maybe past what others would give him - to turn things around. I think he can be a good head coach in this league. But this team is really screwed up right now and it's going to take something more than a magic bullet to turn things around.
