IMO It's not the same.

When RGIII says that problems are on him and on the protection, you can tell that he really is blaming the protection alone.

Maybe he's a fake, but when McCoy says the same thing, he is quite believable in the self-blame part, unlike Griffin. So he's just telling it like it is rather than throwing others under the bus.

I think mentioning a breakdown in coverage is a nothing like comparing yourself to Manning and saying he need players to play better around him.

I'm sure RG3 would have gotten criticized if he had said the same thing that McCoy said.

Yet what's lost in all of this is the fact that our o-line sucks and the team has missed on it big time.
