Re: RG3 and Gruden?
Now how the hell would any of us know that at this point?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
QBs it's easier to know than coaches. FA/draft just doesn't have much to offer in the QB dept., at least nobody who's an immediate upgrade over RG with higher potential.
Different story with potential HC's, but sounds like that decisions been made so who cares ![]() |

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
I agree with you 100%..we are better off with Gruden and RGIII at least 1 more year! How bad would it be to get rid of RGIII for nothing and then watch him thrive on another team..This fan base has to realize that the Redskins Along with long list of other teams are not very good and have not been for a long time..this team is not going to get fixed in one season.

That said, it seems like for now, Snyder has got NBC on the team's side. We will see if it stays that way. |

I'm not siding with the media per se but won't blame them for digging either. One of Grudens biggest problems is he's openly criticized the franchise QB ahead of everybody, including himself. That's a story. You don't have to spin anything to make it newsworthy, cuz it's like amateur hour on the big stage folks. |

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
Smootsmack, maybe you've said elsewhere, but I've tried to find it in this thread and couldn't, is there any talk of RG3's fate this off season. All non Redskins fans I know seem to think it's either he leaves or Gruden does. You've said Gruden will get another year, will Griffin stay?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
At this point it appears to some (like Mike Silver) that Gruden is trying to get himself fired. At minimum it's clear that Griffin isn't going anywhere and it's also clear that he is not Gruden's QB of choice. If he feels painted into a corner where he thinks he can't win, why not try to get out now and collect some cash and then find an OC job somewhere to restore his rep. Another organization may chalk it up to the Redskins stain and allow him another chance in a couple of years.
I'd put it about 20% but I wouldn't be completely surprised to hear of him negotiating his way out of his contract shortly after the season is over.

I know Gruden has been extremely candid in his criticism of Griffin, but part of me is still hoping this year was a hard learned lesson that he needed, and Gruden was laying it on thick to drive home the point. That he needed a wake up call, needed to learn to respect his HC, needed to learn to listen to what people were telling him he needed to learn, and that Gruden was somewhat awkwardly being a strong first year head coach willing to break the kids down to build him back up. It's sad how deep my delusion runs huh? |

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
If they do trade RGIII, would they go after Mariota in the draft? Take a chance with Cousins or McCoy?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
Dag Smoot.....if that's true then why is Jason Reid sports columnist for the Washington Post reporting that Gruden and RG3 will be back next season?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
Maybe they will be. I just know they're going to try to trade Griffin
