The problem is, Manning has always been on teams that can't support him if he fails. It's always the case. If Manning has a bad game, the Broncos (or Colts) lose. Your team can't be that reliant on the QB. I think we are seeing the same thing with the Colts as well.



Check this for instance. Earlier this year, the Colts played the Patriots in Foxboro and got their ass stomp. You'd figure Brady played lights out, but he didn't. In fact, they won despite his poor play.

Carried by a RB and a defense. Negate that "stat padder" they did at the end, and his rating was well below 80 for that game. Tom can afford to have a bad game (unless turnovers are involved) and they still win. QBs like Peyton and Luck don't have that luxury.



If Luck plays bad next week, that team is sunk.

Glad you pointed this out. Remember what happened the year Manning was hurt in Indy? The team won one game. Same team. No Manning. There was actually talk of Manning winning MVP because it was that evident he was the reason they won so much prior to the injury.
Edit: Brady missed a season and they still won 11 games!
