Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
It's a trap game, for sure. Giants usually play us well, and we have underperformed in primetime recently (which is why we have very few primetime games now).
However, the past two games were pretty consistent for us. Good D, Good run game, O+Dlines playing well, and a QB managing the game. The Giants currently are ranked #31 in defense and we're -- #1. If we just play like we've been playing, and get some good QB play -- we may be more competitive in years past. Will be fun to watch, first time I can say that in a while.. |

I pray that it was sarcasm.. If not who tf thought of that was relevant to track?? My guess is it is just the all time record of the away team on Thursday night.

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I can't buy a division game being a trap game. Maybe if this was week 10 and the it was a 8-2 team going against a 3-7 team, but it's only week 3, there should be no heir of arrogance developed by any team yet, let alone one that is coming off a 4-12 season.
Doesn't mean we won't lay an egg or lose. I think we match up well with the NYG on paper, and with what we do well versus what they do well, however for two weeks in a row this team has also dominated their opponent statistically but the games themselves ended up being close. I think instead of a trap, I am more worried about how these guys perform in primetime slot against a veteran QB who while is hot & cold, is still crafty and often finds way to win. Week 3 is early in the season for a team like this to have the spotlight shined on them. |

Cousins and the Skins in general also have terrible history with the Giants. Last time I can remeber beating them was in 2012 on Monday night.

We typically shit the bed on Nationally televised games.
Despite killing it against the Rams and the Giants being pretty terrible, I'm still pretty worried.

I am going to be worried every week unless and until winning becomes far more routine. Make take years.

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
The 0-2 Giants are in full on......desperation mode. They are coming off there 2nd consecutive "had the game in the bag" game. But still no W's. They cannot afford to lose another . It will have to be TAKEN from them.
The team I saw yesterday is capable of......Taking it from them.......HTTR

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Personally, I think the Dolphins and Rams are vastly superior teams to the Giants.
Our problem is: we lose due to stellar individual performances, not team efforts. Aside from a handful of games over the years, I can't remember a TEAM rolling over us. It's always, "Career day from ________". I worry we'll give up 250 yards receiving to Beckham, but I have a lot more faith in our secondary recently. Defensively, if we don't give up an insane individual offensive performance, I like our chances. We should be able to pound the ball down their throats. Enough about the Giants. Rams win bucked the trend of the usual second half collapse. I saw a couple signs of it coming, and we said F this and just stomped their throats.

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Short week, I was going to start this thread myself. I hope the team is already moved on to the Giants as well. Alot of people playing connect the dots as far as who has beaten who, etc. Did anyone notice the Jaguars beat the Dolphins yesterday? That sort of took the wind out of my sails a bit, but hey its the NFL. We should have beaten them too if we could have finished a couple long drives. I think the Giants are going to be really really desperate for a win, and they did look good yesterday. It is a road game too. That being said, this Redskins team has been as good in the trenches as anyone this year, and that is what wins games. I think KC gained a shitload of confidence yesterday and our offense will have a field day against the Gints.
Skins - 38 Gints- 20. Hold on to your hats ladies n gentleman the winds of change are upon us! |

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
It's not a trap game when you're the underdog. The very fact that people think this is a trap game might indicate that a) we're overestimating the Redskins, and b) we're underestimating the Giants.
This is a trap game for Skins fans who expect a win. And while I don't think a victory is necessarily unlikely, another typical prime-time humiliating blowout at the hands of a division rival is equally likely. |
