Part of me figures that maybe some guys get a concussion more easily than others, and some of it may be just not knowing exactly how to protect yourself. But the other side of me says it's just bad luck - you either got hit in the head or you didn't.

If it was constantly an issue of soft tissue injuries I'd definitely label him injury prone, but I'm not sure the concussions weren't just a couple rotten-luck events clustered together.
yeah, I think anyone could get a concussion.

Did anyone see the concussion study being done?

I'll probably botch some of the details (i included link at end), but the jist is they studied the woodpecker who bangs their head 80 million times in their lifetime with presumably minimal damage.

They discovered the woodpecker's tongue muscle actually wrapped around their brain & reduced the vein pressure, keeping more blood in the head cavity...essentially eliminating air space between the brain & cranium, which reduces movement & force that the brain could be tossed around.

So, based on that, they used a U shaped collar that slips over the back of a player's neck to reduce the blood flow from the jugular so that more blood stays in the head cavity, reducing air space.

So, hopefully, there will be a medical breakthrough on that front some time soon.

here's the link......
