He was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2011, according to his wife. Which meant that most likely his last couple of coaching stops he was battling the disease. Incredible when you think about it. I remember his time here very well, thought he was a good hire and we would have no where to go but up from 8-8, but Snyder i guess in what would for a while be a staple of this organization, fired him after the single season..
I hope we reach a cure for this some day. I've walked this road with relatives and its just hellish - worse thing you can imagine

My friend's dad is dealing with this, it's absolutely terrible. Has to have care 24/7 because it's like caring for a baby in a grown man's body. There's no sense of right or wrong, no filter that says "don't do this." I can't imagine what it's like. I feel bad for Marty S. and his family on this one, the further down the road they go the worse it gets.
