Re: Redskins at Cardinals pre game
I have the last few weeks. Doing it this week as well. I had AP ... juggling fat rob, matthews, crowell ...
After listening to Cooleys take this AM, im kinda worried about the Cards. 1. They run the ball. Im still not convinced our run D is fixed, just hasnt been tested/exposed as much. Looking at his carries, the Cards dont run him more than 20 times or so, so that is good. 2. Rb David Johnson is not only one of the best RB but he is also heavily used as a pass catcher out of the backfield and as Palmers dump off. He already has 55 catches and I dont trust any of our LBs to have awareness or ability to shadow him. Would love to see Cravens used creatively here. 3. DL - Cooley said they have a really good interior pass rush and up the middle is where we are weak and where Kirk seems to be flustered the most. 4. D scheme disguises - seems like Mathieu does a Palamolu where he appears to be playing in one spot pre snap then totally runs to another spot post snap. I think Cousins struggles with well disguised D schemes bc he relies so heavily on his ability to read the D pre-snap.

Re: Redskins at Cardinals pre game
I wouldn't, Cards have a good defense. I know our offense is good but idk that our offense is "can easily run roughshod over a good defense good." And idk why anyone would start Fat Rob if they expected an average game out of him at best.

Re: Redskins at Cardinals pre game
What worries me most about this game is that the Cards have some real playmakers (Johnson, Fitzgerald, Mathieu) and they must be furious that their season has gone so poorly, and desperate to do something about it. We have got to come out fast and keep the pressure on. If we can get out to a lead and force Palmer to throw a lot, we can win this game. But if Johnson and their D are pounding away at us all game, it could be problematic. They're well coached too.
With AZ, CAR, CHI, PHI, and NYG left, I think we really have to win at least 3 to get to the playoffs. Four or five would make it a certainty (or near certainty). It needs to start this week -- AZ is obviously a beatable team. Get after Palmer, get a lead early, and keep the foot on the gas.

Re: Redskins at Cardinals pre game
This game will be no picnic, let's hope Carson Palmer is in a holiday spirit and throws some int's.

Re: Redskins at Cardinals pre game
And that one was only a picnic for the last ten minutes, before that it was a close game. I certainly wouldn't expect any more picnics this year, although if it did happen it would be great.

I worry greatly with our defense because Arizona will score at least 24 points, we are going to have to match them score for score. We can do it.

Loss in Arizona drops Washington's playoff odds dramatically - Washington Times
Wow this game is fucking huge! Skins win and they then have a 72% chance to make the playoffs...a loss drops them to a 34% chance to make it! Folks, this is a big fucking game

Nah but seriously Chico's right, winning on Sunday would be a big step in getting that final spot.

Dashaun Phillips back on the roster, Brutton waived from IR. Lanier ruled out Sunday's game.
