the hilarity here is Jerry and sons didn't complete any type of due diligence and cuts someone because they think essentially he is a bad character and will send a message.

It really is like that with every NFL team. The coach works for the owner. You cannot tell me that if Snyder tells Gruden something, that Gruden will not listen.

Issue is here, the owner is the GM. And if the GM decides to release a player, the player gets released. I am not reading too much into Whitehead getting released. He was on his way out anyway when they drafted Ryan Switzer.

Whitehead was 6th on the depth chart.....6th. You can find a 6th WR at an intersection holding a cardboard sign. I cannot believe the media is getting so wrapped around the axle on a #6 Wide Receiver.

As a fan of Dallas, I am not proud of all of the off-field issues. But I wonder if people really do care about it? The Cowboys lead the league (by a HUGE margin) in player suspensions. But, even considering that, all they have done is grow in popularity and revenue. 5 years ago, Forbes reported they were the 5th most popular sports franchise in the world valued at 2.1 billion. In 2017 Forbes lists them as the #1 most popular sports franchise in the world at 4.2 billion. If people really cared about this, one would think they would shy away from them because of the off-field issues. But it is apparently quite the opposite.

For me, the most important ability is availability. If you can't be on the field to contribute, you are not contributing and need to make changes. Either in your off field life, or, a new team.

Yes i agree 100%. For such a young guy considering, he made the right decision, IMO. We know so much more now about CTE than we did even five years ago. It is sad in one regard because if you believe the experts, you have some players that are showing early signs of CTE when they are still young adults in high school.

I worry about it sometimes too, because I played football from early in my life, all the way through middle school and through high school. After high school while in college, i got into boxing, having dozens of amateur fights. Some boxers i knew had already had 100 amateur fights before even turning pro. I experimented in MMA between 2007 and 2010, training in BJJ, already having a long background in Kenpo Karate. The "gym fights" are the ones you don't hear about and I obviously took major licks as all aspiring fighters do. I broke my neck after college and didn't even know about it at the time, only finding out when I failed my physical in 2010 just before I was going to have my first MMA fight as a professional, and had a fractured C7 vertebrae. I had been in a car accident a few years earlier when the injury happened, i didn't even know it at the time and i thought at the time my symptoms were just whiplash.

I am 100% healthy now and feel the best i've felt in years, and sometimes the desire to compete again is pretty strong. But what i know now about neck injuries, as well as CTE, i probably will never have another fight besides maybe some very light gym sparring and grappling. If I was not married, the desire to compete would probably be stronger but i am not going to tempt fate now. Prayers to anyone going through injuries / concerned about CTE....

Evidently, you've missed my point or I did not communicate it correctly.

Even with all the player issues/problems and suspensions all across the NFL, viewership and revenues continue to skyrocket. My example is the Cowboys lap the field when it comes to player suspensions. But they also lap the field in fan based revenue. Just check top jersey sales. People really don't care.

The owners and the league are getting richer by the minute. From their perspective, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And yet again, you missed my point. Ignore my avatar for a moment and try and engage in this from a neutral perspective. I think that little blue star is giving you tunnel vision.

I used the Cowboys as an EXAMPLE. My point is revenue and viewership is always on the rise across the ENTIRE NFL. Not just Dallas. If suspensions, PEDs, dope smoking are "so bad and detrimental" to the league as a whole, then why is business so damn good?

No one really cares.

Anyone else notice all of these new 2 billion dollar stadiums getting built across the league? Revenue is up no matter who is smoking dope, getting arrested, on trial, cheating, taking PEDs.

Hell, Mike Vicks popularity was ENHANCED after he was convicted of a FELONY and imprisoned. He had no problem finding work. Stadiums sold out, games were played, the league moved on. No one cared that he was a convicted felon.

Heard some really good things about Doctson yesterday. Apparently, his foot work is really really good. Heard about this complicated route he ran where he turned Bree around twice then made a sliding catch.
