Bro nothing personal here but thinking we can bail on Reed because 33yo Vernon Davis is having a great season as a backup is crazy. I hope Davis can have another good couple years here as the backup but the only thing Reed being injured constantly means is we absolutely have to have a solid backup insurance policy for when the inevitable happens. I'm hoping Jeremy Sprinkle turns into that guy, but he's got a ways to go.

Reed is also good, don't get me wrong. But I don't ever want to see him compared to HOFer's because he's not gonna get in. He is too injury prone to put together the type of career length necessary to put up the stats needed to get in. In fact, with how injured he is now, I'd be surprised if he lasts another 5-8 years. Eventually one of these days the concussions, or the leg/hips/core injuries he keeps suffering will take its' toll and he will retire.

Also the fact that he's injury prone means we're not gonna get much in a trade, and if we did it would be conditional on him having a healthy year. Not worth it.
