But we most likely would have been worse without it. You aren’t going to get someone that can match Smith’s production next year without breaking the bank, or shipping off alllllll your draft pics to move up, and a rookie may not even pan out.

This was a safe play. For all of you who touts Cousins as being so superior to Smith, look at where it really counts: red zone and 4th quarter. Cousins has never been good either place. So although he puts up great stats between the 20s in the first 3 quarters, he doesn’t make it count when it matters most.
