After 5 years of trying and failing to build a consistent winner, there is no next step for him to take. Time is up! He will either win this season or he'll be fired.

What is so frustrating about Gruden's era has been his inability to run the ball with any success.

If the team, with Kirk, at QB would have been average to slightly above average at the run game, it would have added a game to two games to the win column each year.

The lack of urgency and his unwillingness to change when it came to the run game became an expected shortcoming year after year.

He should be smarter than he was/is regarding the run game; putting players in positions to win, not putting weaker blockers in key positions who lose run after run.

He doesn't even have to be original. Just copy a successful team.

Or, as in this year, just do the same thing and bring in hall of fame level talent and instincts and rely on AP until he breaks down.
