I strongly disagree... Smith is a game manager...and he is contributing to the team's wins this season...he's not passing for a lot of yards a game but he doesn't have to....that's the beauty of ball control rushing and having a very good defense....this was the same formula for winning ball games in the early mid 1980s with Joe Theismann and that superb defense we had back then when Riggins was bull dozing over defenses....in those two games the Redskins were bested by the Colts and Saints it was the defense who had no answers in both of those games...and that wasn't on Alex Smith.

I will disagree with this. The defense let up the first drive TD but settled down. Indy stopped the run and forced AS to beat them and it worked.
In the NO game no doubt about it the pass defense was exposed by what some would say is very good first ballot HOF QB. Despite that the Skins offense would drive down the field but have to settle for field goals. In the first quarter they were swapping TDs for FGs and you cannot win that way.
