Per Reports. Alex Smith is out for the entire 2019 season.

I think most on here have very realistic expectations about Alex and next year but still want to learn about his status.

Re: Alex Smith released from hospital

I do wonder if he will ever play again as a Redskin. He would be 36 years old in his "comeback year" assuming he gets physical clearance to play in 2020. By then, we may already have a draft pick QB / stop gap QB in place, so i wonder if he stays on the bench in 2020. Or can we somehow get him to renegotiate his contract so he would be easier to trade for something/anything so that we can move on from him.

He would probably still end up being a starter somewhere else in 2021 at 37 years old, assuming he is 100% healthy.
