Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Don’t worry everyone. Bruce Allen and his band of bozos have everything under control.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
I don't care what the rumors are, I think the ceiling for Trent is a 2nd, especially from the Patriots. Like the above says he isn't mid 20's and doesn't play 16 games a year. He probably doesn't have a lot of tread left on his tires, he isn't playing another 5-6 years.

JP Finlay is confirming he heard the same thing about the Pats offering a first.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Agreed. And Contenders are who offer up first round picks for an older player who can put them over the top. So we are not going to get a high first for TW because the bottom dwellers know TW aint going to put them over the top. It also helps to know who your LT is before the season is half over. I think there is a little more urgency to figure this all out sooner than later than most but.... Bruce and Dan are quite capable of making a bad situation worse. Chances they are playing this one smart are slim. Since when do they play anything smart? |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Just wanted to add that i'm sick and tired of the spin Florio puts on literally everything associated with this team.
He's been writing for months that the team is delusional for not actively shopping Trent, when he clearly knows that their doing so would reduce their leverage. He's directly stated that they mismanaged Trents injury, when all we had were unsubstantiated rumors. And of course he's never mentioned that team staff told Trent to get a second opinion and perhaps Trent should have some personal responsibility for failing to do so. And he still refuses to use the team name, even though repeated polls have shown actual native Americans are either ambivalent or proud of the name. This team has done plenty of things worthy of criticism over the years, but he seems to have some specific agenda. Can't stand him.

There's only a small handful of teams that are going to want TW in the first place. Holding out for more compensation or waiting for an injury to occur to me isn't the way to go. Most of the good teams or contending teams will either go w/ their backup ( see Eagles) or wait until next year and get someone in the draft who's young and on a rookie deal. |

If a trade is being considered, why they do not have the Texans on speed dial is crazy.

I understand that we all want this situation to be over with, but this situation is not as urgent as people are wanting to make it out to be. Unless someone makes the team an incredible offer,

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
The Patriots 1st is basically a 2nd rounder considering it will be 30-32. Sorry but Trent is worth more and the Skins are right in holding out for more.
And yeah, F Florio. Dude has always been a pencil neck d-bag. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
It's the other way around, if the Texans want a stud LT they should be calling the Skins.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
I agree with Matty.
BTW, I wouldn't cave for just a 1st rounder for TW from the Patriots. That has proved to be the 32nd pick in many a recent draft, and I wouldn't swap TW for any of these pick 32 guys: 2019: K'Neal Harry 2018: Lamar Jackson 2017: Ryan Ramczyk 2016: Emmanuel Ogbah 2015: Malcom Brown 2014: Teddy Bridgewater 2013: Matt Elam 2012: David Wilson 2011: Derrick Sherrod 2010: Patrick Robinson I realize that the Patriots may well not be at 32, but the end of the 1st round hasn't proved to be all that great.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
I say trade him to the Texans forTytus Howard 23rd overall 1st round pick LT plus a draft pick, Redskins throw in Williams and Doctson.
