The statement by the department contradicts camera footage, as police claim Wheeler told Smith to “place his hands behind his back.”

The department said Smith “began to resist by pulling his arms forward and tensing his body,” prompting Wheeler to take him to the ground, but video footage shows Wheeler silently grabbing Smith from behind and telling him to put his hands behind his back only after Smith's arms are already pinned down.

A video showed officers in Buffalo, New York, pushing a 75-year-old man. Police initially said he had tripped and fell.

The video also shows an officer approaching (officer) Baro behind the police line and asking if his body camera is off. Baro replies incorrectly that his camera is in stand-by mode and not recording. The two officers appear to laugh and joke about the people they shot with rubber bullets.

All police need to have auto body cam recording that they cant "turn off" or cover up. The Louisville protestor who was shot and killed ... all the fucking police had camera issues during lethal force use?

At this point, imo ... officers words or reports can not be taken as true.

What ever honor or respect they had or demanded ... is gone imo.

Sad, I trust an officers word as much as I trust the person they have arrested at this point.

Perhaps I spent too much time on reddit watching police abuse video after police abuse video. Then you compare it to their "report" or find out the body cam was not "on" at the time.
