My question would be about Williams leaving. Why would he want to unless he would have a great opportunity with a top 5-10 level though that changes year to year. The fact is (i think) he is making more than some head coaches. If he is the heir apparent another question will be or whoever is...Will he have the same amount of money to spend on coaches as Coach Gibbs has now?

With Snyder writing the checks, I don't think we have to worry about that. He will hire whoever is deemed necessary to get the job done.
About Williams leaving, he has said that he will be here as long as Gibbs is. That said, I could see him leaving in 3 years or so if he gets an offer, but not sooner.

Greg Williams made $1M last year as coach of the Buffalo Bills.

Greg Williams got fired from that job and was hired as a defensive coordinator for the Skins at $1.8M. Yes, he took a step down on the organization chart and got an 80% raise. Don't you wish that would happen to you?

If Williams gets hired away to be a head coach, it will have to be to a team that is dangling a lot of money in front of him!

He writes the checks but Gibbs makes the calls and gets to decide whether or not he wants a check to be written. You cant just say the owner get to make all the decisions, otherwise defend why everyteam in the league has GMs and Presidents that arent the owners (in most cases atelast). They made a big deal about Gibbs having the final say and not Snyder. Snyder gave up that right because of his stupid decisions. Gibbs let everyone vote on the draft choice and took everyones input, but he didnt have to. it says a lot that he did though.

Can Snyder fire Gibbs? The answer to that is yes - in a heart beat. Meaning Snyder is still the man that you have to impress. In every club the owner has supreme control. They can fire the GMs/Presidents. He can decide if gibbs get's the final decesion or not.

This is a moot point to argue because I doubt even if Gibbs bombed every draft that he'd fire him from the HMFIC of the draft.
