The lung thing is not a long term concern. He was the starting QB for LA until the team Dr punctured his lung with that pain shot. Herbert played well enough to keep the starting role after that.

He has a winning record, doesn't turn the ball over a lot, and can make plays with his legs. 32 isn't old, and I doubt he would cost much...not like a Stafford or Ryan would.
