See this just comes across bad. It comes across like you're a leading expert on NA opinions of the name.

Every Native American I know (which is none) aren't pro-or-against the name. I just have to go by what I see in the media. And I see plenty of the woke mob hating against the name, and I also see polls saying 90% of NA's don't care about the name.

If all a fan has ever known is the Snyder era, it does not make much of a difference. A rose by any other name is just as sweet and a shoddily run franchise with a new name is just as shoddy.

If you are older (me for example), this requires jettisoning a great deal of history that was seen first hand. I have seen the Skins in 5 Super Bowls and numerous playoff appearances. The franchise has basically had 3 periods of glory and I was there for 2 of them.

I’ve been a loyal fan since I was 10 in 1982. Nobody is erasing the history of this team, it’s all still there, it happened. But times change and here we are facing a new era. I’m excited about the future and will always be proud of the past.

The caveman reference is more about the fans that aren’t going to accept the change under any circumstance.

I totally understand peoples emotional connection to the team and it’s past glory. It’s part of fandom, their childhood…it’s nostalgic and makes them feel good. I understand how it can feel like some of that is being taken away. I get that perspective and I’m fine with it. Where your skins stuff, wave the redskins banner, shit, sing HTTR loud and proud

But I also totally understand and accept things change and the team has moved on. The team has been terrible for 20 years…it’s time for something new. Change name and let’s get it on. Younger generation don’t remember the past glory so maybe it’s time to start a new legacy? I understand that as well.

I think both sides should accept both views and just respect it. Neither is incorrect

Oh I meant that they'd refer to the team as the Redskins not any new name (especially if WFT is the final choice).

The fact of that matter is Indians/Native Americans/Indigenous Peoples are viewed as ... Cool.

The look, the folklore, the myths- it all fascinates us. The examples are endless and not restricted to the dwindling number of team names. And it's not just us. A good chunk of the world shares this fascination.

But frankly, they can name the team the Washington Wonder and they will still be my favorite team. I'm in too deep. No way I'll just be able to switch teams and pretend like I really care about them and don't like us. WFT will always be my main chick. No matter what she calls herself.

At first I thought the ideal change would be something that kept the NA theme (warriors etc) .. then the team says it wants nothing to do with any NA theme .. but the colors are okay , I’m good with that in fact I’ll be glad when the Whole NA thing just goes away .. it’s like breaking up with your girlfriend and she just wants to be friends … yea right it’s best just to go in opposite directions.. I hope that is what happens.. The Whole WFT name was us a tongue and cheek slap in the face to all that pushed the change .. it least that’s my opinion..
