Monuments… is my new guess, that is the only thing authentic to DC … no animal is unique to DC …the Jason Wright hint is huge .. think about it the commanders, defenders , Armada, brigade …are they unique to DC? ( I don’t know)I could see the Hogs in the name but he did not say authentic to the redskins tradition or even talk about tradition .. authentic to DC ??? Let’s think about that … obviously the Washington Monument, The Pentagon, Potomac river, the capital ( the capitals) , it could be something military ( veteran related) .. I gotta believe it’s not gonna be redwolves, red hogs or anything like that .. the new hint from Wright is intriguing indeed … we gonna be surprised

Authentic is not the same as unique. And authentic is just a weird word choice. Are bears authentic to Chicago? Are giants authentic to NY (of course the NYG aren't authentic to New York since they are in New Jersey

Interesting point by Finlay. What if fans of Washington Wolves name start howling after touchdowns Friday night. What if it takes off in the stadium during the season. Would that sway the team?

The Washington Monument is the most visible landmark in DC … as well as the capital.. when the Capitals were named I’m sure they had a lot of negativity.. authentic to DC .. let’s hear what you got for a name with that in mind … the bears, giants were names at the very start of pro football .. easy to see how they came up with that .. A name that’s authentic to DC .. hmmm 🤔

Okay 😀… I get it but I think you guys are overthinking the monument name … you can put a negative spin on about any name .. its just a light hearted conversation at least it’s not about covid 😳.. whatever the name I’ll be here pulling for the Burgundy & Gold …the comment Coach made about cartoonish look … another hint I think he was looking at a wolf pic …
