He really is a fool for saying that on multiple fronts.
1. Officials did their job. It's a players responsibility to know the rules. If your center doesn't know that he can't spot the ball himself, that's on him!

3. You're going to live to regret saying things like this in the heat of the moment after a game. A great QB would keep his mouth shut until he'd had time to look back at what happened, preferably on film. Too late now, it's out there, and every outlet is going to be criticising you for saying it. Plus, good luck with the officials being friendly next season (ever?). You just threw them under the bus. You really think it's OK to subject them to that abuse? Good luck walking that one back.

And anyone else see McCarthy's face after every penalty? Looks like he was struggling to work out who to blame. You coach, it's you. Discipline starts at the top.
