Re: Political Memes

Nobody is saying Fuck the constitution or liberty or freedom. There are myriad of democracies across several continents that have looked at the flaws of our system and made it to fit the needs of an evolving society yet we can't for many reasons.

What we are saying is the amendments created in an agrarian society by some erudite honkies do not necessarily fit the needs of our modern society. There were plenty of things they got right but way more they got wrong. Yes some of that was altered in future amendments but we are still paying a societal cost.

I love the idea of being able to amend the constitution but I think we all know that ship has sailed in the current political landscape. It gets highly frustrating when legislation is suggested that fit the needs of a modern society and has overwhelming support it can't pass because politicians will say it violates the constitution. Well no this is what we the American people want. We tell you we want it and the politicians of the United States chose not to. The law of the land should fit our needs not a narrative. Look no further than universal background checks. 80% of Americans want it including 72% of NRA members. Yet it will never pass the senate.

The argument we have it better than most so just be happy with it doesn't hold. We don't even have the best democracy on our continent any more. This doesn't mean I should be forced to leave because I disagree with you. My family has sacrificed a lot for you to be that hateful towards your fellow Americans to tell us to GTFOH, we have tried to make it a better place for more Americans but there is a long way to go. Our politicians need to start listening to the constituents instead of their interests or we will never deviate from the norm.
