My argument is that age matters (he is still only 14). One of the guys doesn't think age should ever matter (he agreed with example of a separate case of a DA pushing to prosecute an 8 year old as an adult).

13-17 is a tricky age imo about how to properly punish someone for a terrible act/decision. Did that 14-year old have similar actions before? If so, that should factor into the punishment decision.

It's just really sad that things like this happen. Like, what have you experienced or seen before, that made you act like that?
