Tradition or Superstition?
In another post, I had mentioned certain traditions we do around the house in preperation for a Skins game. I started to reflect on that, and started to consider if it is tradition... or superstition?
Have you ever felt like you were the one that was the cause for a loss? My 12 year old son was blaming me for the Chargers loss. Told me we shouldn't have it on the TV. Do you have a particular hat, sweatshirt, jersey? Do you put a giant blow up Redskins player in your front yard (my neighbor does this for his Ravens... LOL... even still!)? Around here we have the flag outside, I put one on my Jeep on Friday for the weekend... (can't trust leaving it on all week.. too many Eagles fans in these neck of the woods) On game day I have a white hat autographed by Ramsey that I wear, have been all year. I have a Portis autographed white jersey, only worn on game day. Do you think my white hat/white jersery with the players in white uni's is the right winning combo? What goes on in your house? |

we eat shrimp in my house during the game. We never lose when we do it. I'm going to the supermarket and buying two pounds later today.

Re: Tradition or Superstition?
sure do, everytime i go to a bucs/skins game we lose. this sucks especially when i fly up there with my wife (an avid bucs fan). we have access to great tickets in raymond james (40 yard line, 10 rows up visitors side), you can bet if the skins come down here again i'll be at home enjoying a good old fashioned butt whipping on tv.
in college, i had a girlfriend who insisted on doing the old flippy floppy at halftime, we were 100% when i got lucky!! ('90-91) I should have married that one!! |
