Re: Who Stops Us Now??
We can lose to anybody on the road. We can also beat anybody. It's just a matter of execution and bounces.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??
as long as springs and rogers are back i think we can win...hopefully the inexperienced simms will choke in the playoffs...and the team needs to get back to the intensity they had in the dallas and new york games

Re: Who Stops Us Now??
First and foremost, the Redskins need to worry about Tampa Bay. They are returning to the scene of a very ugly loss...the controversey at the end aside, they gave up 36 points to an offense that was struggling badly going into that game. And Cadillac only played sparingly. Tampa has also won 6 of 8 and aside from the egg they laid in New England, have been playing well...and that place will be crazy on Saturday, not to mention the Skins are banged up.
Now all that being said...I think the most dangerous team in the NFC right now is the Bears....nobody is saying anything about them. They have a defense that is downright brutal...would have been the #1 in the NFL if they didn't play all bench guys today. Today aside, they have won 10 of their last 11...and they finally have a QB who can throw the ball downfield. They went 10-4 with practically no QB or passing game and that's remarkable. I know, people will say the Skins beat them...but that was months ago, at home, in week #1. Orten was making his first NFL start and was clearly off. And the Skins only won 9-7. Chicago twice was driving deep in Skins territory too, and one bad penalty took them out of FG range and then late in the game Orten simply fumbled away the ball with nobody even touching him. The Skins were lucky to win that game and with that defense, the Bears will be tough for anyone even Seattle. No matter who the Skins will play though, it will be on the road and they are a much different team on the road then home. All the games will be struggles...but this team has scrapped and found ways to win...hopefully they can keep it up. |

Re: Who Stops Us Now??
Seattle: much better now than when we beat them earlier this year. Plus, if we play them, it'll be in their house, and they'll want revenge against us. This is a tough matchup for us.
Tampa: Cadillac will play against us this time, and the Bucs are playing even better now than they were when we lost to them earlier. Chicago: their defense terrifies me. Carolina: a well-balanced team. Not sure how well they match up with us, though. New York: it would be a war if we played them again. The two blowout games this year were kind of flukey -- each time was so jacked up for the games they won. If we play them again, it goes down to a field goal, I think. Hard part is beating them in Jersey. |

Re: Who Stops Us Now??
Yes we can beat anyone right now, but we have a major problem in Tampa, if anyone thinks they are not going to come out attacking our secondary as Philli did their crazy. And rest assured they will be better at it than Philli was.
In order to win this game we have to, and I mean HAVE TO keep their offense off the field, if our defense has to spend significant time on the field we will be toast. We can not allow Simms to get in any kind of rythem, if we allow him to get hot like the first meeting we may not be able to stop them, which means we will have to outscore them in their building, not easy to win a shooting match with 60,000 screaming fans in your ear every play. The 2 pluses we have are Taylor, and Griffen, are back in the lineup for this one. The negative is Cadilac seems to be at full strength this time, which I believe he was not the first time we played. |

Re: Who Stops Us Now??
The Tampa game is going to really tuff. Simms has a lot more confidence than he did when he lit us up for 270 and 3TDs. Cadillac is playing well also. If our secondary is banged up as it looks like it will be, we could be in some trouble. You would think that with the secondary as thin as it is, GW would play more cover two, but that is just not what he is going to do. He is going to blitz, and maybe blitz more than normal trying to limit the amount of time the corners have to cover the receivers. Its going to come down to pressure. If we can pressure Simms and make him get rid of the ball quick, we stand a chance. If they can pick up the blitz, he will make us pay, BIG TIME! I am not so worried about Tampas D. I think we will be able to run and hit them with the WR screen and some deep ball. Hopefull Cooley will be more involved. Our offense looks so much more dangerous when he is involved and has to be accounted for. When he is taken out of the game plan, D's can single out Moss and Portis and shut them down.
By the way, Thrash is absolutely horrible. He couldn't get open if I covered him. He has to be one of the slowest, and worst receivers at getting open or creating space in the NFL. Can we get a little help from somebody in the WR core. All we need is a couple of catches to help moss and cooley out. Cooley couldn't do crap yesterday. |

Not to rag too much on anyone, but Thrash really did look completely out of it. I thought Cooley's lack of production yesterday was really more on Brunell. |

Hey I was just curious why did the Bears go back to Orton? Is Grossman hurt again?
