There really is none, honestly. Some claim that you needed these people to fill jobs in housing and agriculture that Americans don't want to do. But not really sure I completely buy it. Our immigration system is a mess, and I will give Trump credit for at least trying to do something. It does seem that the Sen Lankford bill was a start and should've been passed, but people should rightfully ask why the Biden Admin did next to nothing for three years.

That said, I'm still troubled that the GOP voting base overwhelmingly chose Trump over DeSantis and Haley. Yes, Trump's pre-covid presidency wasn't bad, but his post 2020 election behavior was terrible and the fact that the guy paid no political price for Jan 6 is astonishing.
