Oldie but Goodie
I've been on vacation the past week so I've just been checking the site sporadically and don't know if this has been talked about but...
Let's give it up for Ray Brown. He's really done a hell of a job stepping in for Randy Thomas. I've hardly heard his name mentioned at all (except for when they talk about how old he is) and that's always a good sign for an O-Lineman.

Re: Oldie but Goodie
TAFKAS is right, if you don't hear his name called means that he's doing his job. Granted, he isn't Randy Thomas, but he's filling in just fine. Not bad for a 43 yr old.

Re: Oldie but Goodie
Good call, TAFKAS.
Lost in the rise of Brown to the starting lineup has been the ascension of Derrick Dockery as well. Because Brown isn't as mobile as Thomas, we've had to change some of the counter plays from left to right, which puts greater pressure on Dockery, not famous for grace under pressure in the past. He's done remarkably, and deserves credit as well.

The running game hasn't missed a beat and old man Brown definitely deserves a tip of the cap.

Re: Oldie but Goodie
I saw Ray Brown on Monday night live last night, and let me tell you the guy is one of classiest people to ever wear a Redskins uniform.
Chick Hernandez asked him what he wanted to be remembered as after he retired and Ray said "Chick its simple, I just want to be remembered as a good teammate, thats the best compliment anyone can ever give me". Thats class! I'm glad he's retiring as a Redskin. |
