Sad to see C Rod go. Very productive back when he was given a chance to carry the load.

People bugging out an hour into free agency was definitely hilarious and over the top ridiculous

I'm wondering if McNichols is maybe back instead. I'd say $10M (6 guaranteed) over 2 years for a 2nd/3rd string back is probably more than AP was willing to pay, at least this early in FA. We knew we would lose a number of FA's including a few we'd rather keep.

No chance in hell I'm taking Love at 7. Crazy high for a running back.

I'd hope to trade back 5 or 6 spots and nab one of the top corners while recouping a 2nd.

He'd be hard to pass up, but a risk that high, sure. He's far and away the best player and most dynamic offensive talent coming out in a while, though.

Who knows. If he's there at 7, im probably taking him.

Re: 2026 Commanders Free Agency

I don’t have a problem taking an RB high at #7. The question is whether Love’s a generational RB. (like a Bijan, AP, Saquan)

I don't have a problem with drafting a RB in top 10, although I don't think it's ideal for our situation as we have needs that are more important than the RB position. We need to consider the impact of the position. For example, Bijan Robinson and Barkley - they were drafted in top 10 and yet they couldn't help their teams win more games.

Re: 2026 Commanders Free Agency

I think the question will be is he the best player available at that point. If the market consensus is Love is the best guy left when we pick, I'm good with it. But the noise is he'll be gone before 5, let alone 7. If Downs is there, I'd be hard pressed not to take him unless Reese was still available (again doubtful).

They didnt have JD5 - those crappy giants and current average falcons teams. If our line is junk, scheme is junk, WR doesnt improve --- then maybe i would agree but i dont think any of the above will be true by the time the season starts.

Re: 2026 Commanders Free Agency

Running backs are a disposable position w/ high risk injury. It's just not a position I would ever invest a 1st round pick in.

McNichols and Bill are fine. Draft someone in the mid rounds and bring in a FA or two.

I agree IF they re-sign McNichols. If he signs elsewhere, they have to add at least one FA RB. That's why I hope they are pursuing White. He fits the Ekeler mould. Though ideally we need 2 more at least for depth competition in camp assuming we don't go with Love.

Re: 2026 Commanders Free Agency

Wish list today: re-sign Chris Paul. And some WR help and RB depth -- Deebo and McNichols, perhaps.

We could always use depth in various places, and we have a bunch of DL FAs that remain unsigned, some of whom would be good to bring back as depth: Goldman, and maybe Day and/or Holmes.

A bunch of guys won't be back -- I imagine Austin Ekeler, Noah Igbinoghene, Noah Brown, Bobby Wagner, Zach Etrz, Von Miller, Jonathan Jones, Trent Scott, Josh Johnson, Preston Smith, Antonio Hamilton, George Fant, Jeff Driskel, Chris Moore, Chase Edmonds, Lucas Niang, and Tyree Jackson. Of that group, Niang was hurt and didn't get a chance, and I wonder if they want to see what he's got. And I'll be sad to see Ertz, Wagner, and Ekeler go -- quality guys and great players in their prime. Hamilton also played a lot more than folks expected, and I wonder whether they keep him or Jonathan Jones as depth (I doubt it; both are up there in years and we're clearly going in a different direction).

Of that list I'd like to see them give Igbinoghene, Niang, and Tyree Jackson 1 year prove it deals. They're still young enough to develop more, and the new coordinators may get more out of them. Happy of Paul comes back, but he did well last year so probably wants a starting job.

Well, I think he'd have the starting LG job with us, as he did last year. It's possible that they'll let him walk and slot Coleman into that spot, although Paul beat him out for it last year. Paul played well, and I'd be happy for him to stay so we're looking for one OL position (center) and not two.

I am conflicted in Igbinoghene -- he's shown flashes but has also had bad lapses. Jackson is intriguing with size too (6'7", 250 lbs), and we do need to continue to develop that position, especially if they think that Sinnott has a make or break year and we don't want to have to keep going out for new guys. Niang is a blank for me -- also a huge guy (6'7", 328 lbs) but didn't sniff the field last year.
