Re: OLine Depth watch
The O line is concerning and I really hope AP addresses it. Here’s where we are:
LT - our All Pro stud is out and replaced by a guy who was decent his rookie season but lost his starting gig when shifted to G (and then lost that job). We are hoping he takes a step forward from his rookie year but no guarantees. LG - Paul back as a starter. Did ok but the plan was to replace him with Coleman until Tunsil was hurt. C - let go a good player in Biadiaz. His replacement has been injured and has barely practiced. The backup is a 6th round rookie who has looked like it so far. RG - Stud. Hopefully the injuries are well behind him. RT - guy who struggled his rookie season but improved. Hoping for continued improvement. This just feels like what we did last year with the D line. Too much hoping for the best and not enough proven competence for my taste. On a happier note, I just got tickets to see the Colts game in London. Haven’t been to a game in ages and this should be cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: OLine Depth watch
They are satisfied for now, they might add a player or two before Eagles opener but I think they go into the opener with the current roster.
After the Eagles games, things might change. Though by then, who could you get. |

Re: OLine Depth watch
Taylor Decker still unsigned although he’s a T and not C or G. But you’re right that by not acting already, the options are thin.

Re: OLine Depth watch
Keim spoke about the Oline issues in his podcast a few days ago, turns out that the center situation is more complicated than we imagined.
Biadasz actually didn't play well with us last year. Keim specifically stated that people from both the team and around NFL said the same thing - Biadasz wasn't good at all last year. Allegretti is expected to be better, if not the same level as Biadasz. Regarding the center depth - multiple teams have the same issue and are looking for the same thing. This explains why the center options are very limited at this time. While there were a few available via free agency and trade - majority of those players do not fit Blough's offense. As for Glasgow, he can be a good fit for us but the issues are (1) will Glasgow accept the vet minimum? (2) will Glasgow accept being a backup once Allegretti is healthy to play? I think the latter is a challenge for us to navigate - no centers will want to play for us when they know that they will be relegated to the backup duty once Allegretti is healthy to play. Put yourself in Glasgow's position - you are contemplating retirement. Will you be willing to accept the vet minimum, just to play or would you prefer to retire? In other words, it takes both parties to dance together. We could offer (if not already) Glasgow a job but it won't work if the offer doesn't work for him. |

Re: OLine Depth watch
Clearly the team thought Biadasz wasn't working out, and I am certainly not in a position to disagree with that judgment. But the plan for what to do next obviously went off the rails. They apparently had sights on Linderbaum, and that obviously didn't happen. It isn't clear what plan B (or C or D) was. It's hard to imagine it is what we are doing now.

Any thought that begins with “I hope AP addresses it”is probably not going to end well based on his track record. |

Re: OLine Depth watch
True, but out of the shotgun with JD5 running a lot. That’s not the plan this year.
Allegretti was the playing G, not C, which was where he had experience. We’ve arguably upgraded RT going from Wylie to Conley. Cornelius Lucas was actually our highest rated (PFF) OL that year other than Biadasz, who was even higher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
