Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

I've always had a soft spot for older, funny movies. I needed something, anything after our mess in Dallas yesterday. Watched John Candy in Summer Rental. Some funny scenes and Candy is always entertaining. Definitely not his best but not a terrible way to spend 1.5 hours.

The scene at the end where Candy is wearing a hoop earring and winning the boat race is classic, legendary Candy. Great stuff.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Just watched Uncle Buck. Good for a few laughs here and there but not my fav John Candy movie. As always, Candy plays his role well as a very fun, crazy uncle taking care of kids.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Saw Tom Cruise’s new movie, Digger.
Tom plays actor portraying Digger Rockwell in a play.

The movie goes thru the different acts of the play. I’m still not
Sure what the movie was about. Was it a bio on the fictional Digger Rockwell?
Was it about the events that was portrayed in this play? A dark comedy commentary
On potential real life scenarios?

I give it a 7.5/10. Hell, I didn’t even realize that John
Goodman was playing one of the main characters.

Definitely a different movie for Tom.

I recently finished the show Goliath. Really good. Billy Bob Thornton is great in this as everything he does. He plays a slick lawyer with great plots. A lot of humor added in too. Loved this show.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Just watched Faster with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. This also included one of my other favs Billy Bob Thornton. Typical Rock tough guy movie about him getting out of prison as he has serious issues to resolve. Not great but worth a watch if you like his stuff.

I saw “The Social Reckoning “, the sequel to “The Social Network “; tells the story of the whistleblower Frances Haugen who leaked documents known as Facebook Files.

Gets a solid 7/10.

Saw Scary Movie 6. Doubt this wins any Oscars and is pretty offensive but some parts were also pretty hilarious if you're into this series. Reminded me a lot of Scary Movie 2 just the cast 25 years older lol.

Finishing up Ted Lasso currently. Not too bad with Jason Sudekis playing a soccer coach. Show received a lot of accolades and includes some British actors and actresses. Plot entails an English soccer team with a highly unique owner. Pretty funny and entertaining.

Saw Jenna Ortega’s latest movie, Klara and the Sun. Like her doing different types of roles.

I’ll give this a solid 7.7/10.

Saw Clayface today, latest DC movie. It was a little different but I liked it.

Gets a 7/10. A solid movie, probably more of a movie, you watch before you go to bed.
