Election Day 2026

Well Tuesday is Election Day. Think I saw where they said half the voters already voted either thru early voting or mail in.

Blue wave? Red wave? Everyone seems to think it will be a big blue wave and Dems may win in red areas this time.

I say not so fast. Dems may narrow the margin but ultimately those red areas will stay red.

I think before the rigging and post election shenanigans starts:

U.S. House- Dems do capture the House with 10-15 seat majority.

U.S. Senate- The gop who has a 54-45-1 majority, will retain control with a 50-50 tie or 51-49 majority. I think Dems definitely flip Ohio and North Carolina but fall short in other areas to get control of Senate. I think El-Sayed in Michigan doesn’t win and that seat flips to gop.

Trump and the gop will do everything to block any Dem win; so post election shenanigans will go all the way past 1/3/27, when new term starts.

Re: Election Day 2026

We all knew this was going to happen, trump DOJ getting ready to steal the Election.

The Washington Post News

Trump administration retools its battle over elections to keep fights alive after Election Day

Patrick Marley and Jeremy Roebuck, (c) 2026 , The Washington Post

https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/...100000923.html

In the closing days of a campaign for Congress where polls show his side losing, President Donald Trump and his Justice Department are filing lawsuits and opening investigations that could extend disputes well beyond Election Day.

The administration's extraordinary attempt to cast doubt on the midterm elections, discount some ballots and prevent the finalization of results is entering a frenetic new phase.

I think dems shot themselves in the foot in the senate races. The Alaska and Michigan fiascos cost them and the Alaska thing is so stupid because they weren't going to flip that seat anyways.

We've been told for decades how Texas is going purple and every year the democrats fail miserably there. I don't see that changing this election.

In order for democrats to make inroads they can't afford to look dysfunctional. Swing voters are a fancy way of saying conservatives that don't like the republican candidate but if there is one minor flaw on the democratic side they will vote republican even if it is 1/1000th the corruption and dysfunction of the typical republican candidate.

Re: Election Day 2026

As much as I want the Republicans gone, it's not happening. The polls were wrong the last election there is no reason to think they're right now . IMO things stay relatively close to what we have now. Sadly.

Dems are having a big night. Texas went blue.

They already won control of both the House and Senate.

Re: Election Day 2026

Trump before the elections: vote like I’m on the ballot!

Trump after the elections: they’re lucky I wasn’t on the ballot or we would have won!

Go back to sleep Gramps

Re: Election Day 2026

I say winning 7 Senate seats was bigger because that’s a 6 year term; whereas the House is only 2 years. House could flip back, if Dems overplay things.

Re: Election Day 2026

Well, that was an ass-whipping if I've ever seen one before, and rooting for this football team, unfortunately I've seen a lot of them.

Maybe the republican party will get the hint (they won't).

Next 2 years are going to be pretty wild.

Also, Trump really is a petulant bitch. This is ABSOLUTELY a referendum on you! But at least we have the Gulf of America (yes that is sarcasm!)!

Do you really think Trumps cabinet would do that? We're stuck with him for 27 more months. (Vance wouldn't be much better anyway).

It's MAGA that needs to get the hint. They were the only ones that voted for straight party, most of the other Republicans (a minority of the party) either sat out, split their tickets or voted straight Dem to repudiate not only Trump but all of MAGA as well.

Let's stop pretending like republicans are doing a great job, whether they support Trump or not. Running a bunch of warmongers like the Graham family or fake conservative cucks like Thune, are just as bad as anyone you consider MAGA.

Gotta disagree with you there, they are not as bad as MAGA (nor most of the Dems for that matter). Problem is there are too few and will have to spend years trying to recapture the GOP if they can.
