Re: Timmy Smith

Ok, its off season and we are looking for something to do waiting for the present Redskins to take their next actions. How about looking for TIMMY SMITH and inviting him to this website to tell us what he remembers about his experiences; I for one would have been happy with my entire life if I could have rushed for 205 yards in a Skins win in a SB. IDEAS?

PILE ON......

It was a short career, but what a record to be remembered for.

Re: Timmy Smith

I have not kept up with him over the years, but have marveled at what a performance he had in the bowl and his inability to make subsequent teams. What a shame. he may have had the biggest fall for a player one year to the next of all time. that's gotta' be a thread this offseason!

Re: Timmy Smith

I remember him hurting his knee and never getting back on track after that.I remember watching those playoffs and the SB and i was tickled pink that Smith was starting, from watching him in the playoffs leading up to the sb it was evident to me that he had the speed that rogers was lacking,I was screaming at the tv for Gibbs to give him more carries,I'm glad he started the sb over Rogers

What about Jerell Thomas (sp)....some kid that played with the Rams?

He had like 3 200 yd games in a row, and the next year he was a non-factor.

You mean this guy?. I don't think it is possible to have 3 200 yard games in a season and not be over 600 yards for the season.

Re: Timmy Smith

Actual Timmy's number for that year were not that bad he just did not see alot of playing time. Regular season he rushed 29 times for 123 yards and an average of 4.3 per rush. In the SB he rushed 22 times for 204 yards and an average of 9.3. If you combine the two he rushed 51 times for 327 yards at 6.41 per attempt. Man, what one will do to kill a little time.

That's the guy - obviously my numbers are off. But those figures are pretty much what he got in like three games. Averaging around 142 yds. per game.
