it crossed the plane, the plane is the white line, its across it by over a milimeter. I don't know what rulebook you're using, but that's a TD according to the actual rules.

the PI was a bit iffy, but seattle missed a lot of chances and they weren't the better team. If stevens could catch they would've won. If the refs didn't call the PI and holding, it would've just been a closer defeat.

I dont know if the fix was in or not,but I thought it was poorly officiated,1 call i havent heard get much discussion was the catch and fumble in the 1st qaurter{i think jeremy stevens}he took 2 steps at least before he was hit,and thats a call that went seattles way,the refs blow their whistles too early half the time and dont let the play go on,lots of teams get screwd over by the refs blowing their whistle ruling the play dead but i dont know what can be done about it,its human error,and as long as refs are human and not robots theres always going to be bad calls

Funny thing after they called back the play to the 1 because of holding Hasselback was then sacked, did anyone else see the defender put his helmit into hasselbacks face? No one even mentioned that in a year if you so much as touch the QB's helmit with your hand trying to block a pass your flagged for 15 yards and a first down, and yet that went unforseen, but they picked up on the illegal block 2 plays later on Hasselbach for having the nerve to tackle the intercepter below the waste and call it a block.

There were other calls that were never brought up that affected that game, I watched the replay on the ball that hit [I forget which Seahawk reciever] in the back of the head or there abouts, he never saw it, reason? he had polomolu standing him up in the secondary funny no pass interference was called considering how tight they were calling it up until then.

It didn't go Seattles way because the ball went about 10 more yards downfield and out of bounds, that's a big first down for the Hawks if it's allowed. Only if someone was there to recover would it have been a call for Seattle.

So far all my Steeler buddies are saying the same thing, they all think that the game was manipulated in their favor, but they also are saying that was exactly what was happening to them against the Colts, which I couldn't agree more, I watched that game and although I bet the Colts I was just laughing at what the refs were letting the Colts get away with to get them back into that game. To the Steelers credit they got out to an early lead and were able to hold them off, I guess the nfl learned from their mistake and made sure nothing like that hapeened in the SB. Especially after the start as the Hawks were moving the ball methodically on them, and not allowing the steelers out of their own end.

No doubt. IMHO, the shame of it is, this whole Official-gate thing is overshadowing the end of a great career for Jerome Bettis. He finally gets his chance to go out on top, gets it, and now this. Damn zebras!

WHAT??!!! You do realize the ball doesn't have to touch the line, it just has to cross it even if it's just for a split second. That picture clearly shows the ball breaking the line.

If the fix really was in, the Seahawks would have won or at least covered and I'm sure the casinos and bookies everywhere would have made a killing.

The officiating has sucked for years... that doesn't necessarily mean the games are rigged.

The game is becoming too fast for the human eye to properly judge. You've got these huge guys who can run like the wind and plays are bang-bang on the field, and these refs are under enormous pressure to get the calls right. They probably get 98% of the calls correct, but it's that very small percentage they get wrong that gets held under the microscope.

As long as there's the human element to officiating, mistakes are going to happen, it's that simple.

Everyone is overlooking the fact that Seattle just didn't play well enough to win the game. Penalties, horrible clock management, poor exeuction, etc., were the main causes they lost the game. Blaming the refs is always the convenient excuse. I'm not denying there were some bad calls, but that wasn't the main reason they lost.
