butter brickle? i haven't seen it since i was a youngster. Posted in 2004, one or 2 places mention butter brickle. Next time you're in Baltimore, check out Beach Bums Homemade Ice Cream (1038 Light Street)...

PennSupreme (Martin's/Giant in Western MD/Southern PA) used to have a flavor called Tin Roof that my grandmother always had, which was awesome.

Safeway has a Caramel Caribou Moose Tracks that I had on Sunday which was really good as well.

Diamond Dollars...lol, couldn't resist. For those of you who don't know, the shoes are Ice Creams (the shoe division of BBC (Pharrell's clothing line)).

This is where it's at

Carl's is a Virginia landmark, serves the best damn frozen custard on the planet-- and was the secret to the Redskins' amazing 11-0 run to start their '91 Super Bowl campaign...

It's true!

That season, Mark Rypien filmed a weekly Redskins show in Fredericksburg down at the restaurant that used to be known as Sophia Street Station. Every Thursday night after he finished the show, he would head down to Carl's for some of their magical frozen custard. Every week Ryp ate frozen custard, the Redskins rolled to victory.

But wouldn't you know it... Week 13 rolls around. Dallas comes to town. Ryp forgoes Carl's magical concoction. Redskins lose.

Coincidence?

Valentine's Day is Tuesday, and Carl's will be reopening from its offseason slumber. Swing by with your date and order a 'Sugar Chocolate', and judge Carl's lucky charms for yourself...

...and no, I'm not affiliated with Carl's in any way, besides being a native Fredericksburger and a loyal Carl's customer.
