i am not a big fan of shell's but i do agree he deserves a shot as much as guys like jauron...

Last time a coach went back to the same team? um, I guess Joe Gibbs. But you probably mean back to the same team he was fired from. In which case, the closest I can think of is Gunther Cunningham being fired as Chiefs HC but coming back to be defensive coordinator.

Even if he does well, I'm sure Davis will look to replace him next year if he can find someone. Shell is to Davis what Unseld used to be to Pollin. Just someone loyal who can fill in when needed until something else comes along.
