Quote:
Manning: 98 million contract, 34.5 million signing bonus and 19 million in roster bonuses over seven year period. Unless they cut him he'll earn 53.5 million in bonus money over 7 years. Vick: 130 million contract, 7.5 million signing bonus and 29.5 roster bonus (22.5 million already earned) over a period of 10 years. Vick will earn 37 million in bonus money over a ten year span.

Re: Another Off-Season Drought Thread
you're right, manning averages 16mill a year and vick is only 13mill a year average. I forgot it was a 10 year deal.

Re: Another Off-Season Drought Thread
You think hes overrated? Try living in Atlanta. Saying anything bad about Vick is comprable to treason.
But its like you guys said. Why don't players get more endorsement deals. I sware sometimes I think Mannings trying to buy his own country or something (high NFL contract along with endorsements by Visa, Gatorade, and Microsoft). I can understand why a LB or an OL would be out to get as much as they can from their team since they're not nearly as marketable but as far as WR, RB, and QB is concerned, come on, help your team out, get the equivalent of 3 or 4 game checks by shooting a 30 second commercial. On a side note: Does anyone know if built-in contract incentives count against the cap? I heard somewhere that they don't. |
