video games other than Madden?
Just wondering what other games you guys are in to other than Madden? I picked up Splinter Cell this weekend for the PS2 for $19 off the cheap bin and man I'm loving it right now, I can see why it got so much hype.
Some other games I'm a fan of, Metroid Prime Legend of Zelda series (but I haven't played wind waker yet) NBA Street Vol. 2 Eternal Darkness Mario Kart Double Dash Tecmo Super Bowl (still a classic) I really don't play much else other than Madden. I think Splinter Cell might keep me distracted from Madden for a while though. I really hesitate from buying new games nowadays simply because Madden takes up 95% of my video game playing time. I need to hit the lottery so I can have more time to play video games, LOL! |

For console games, it's tough to beat Madden, though I love to play the SSX Snowboard games. They are a trip!
I generally play PC games the most... love the "First Person Shooters". I played all the originals... Wolfenstein, Spear of Destiny, Doom. I quit for quite a while around the time of Quake II came out and recently started playing them again a couple of years ago with the release of "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault" came out. I love playing deathmatch! These days, though, all I pretty much play is another WWII fps called "Call of Duty". It rocks... I play it online all the time and am pretty damn good at it. Shooting Nazis it always fun!

I am not a big fan of Madden football games, I think that the last one that I bouught had Eddie George on the cover. I like the sega/espn nfl 2k series of football games. I thought that it was great when they released it for the ps2 game center.
I like Age of Empiers and Ages of Mythology for the pc. Other than football games for the ps2 I really dont get into other games, I guess I am a one game guy, Football. |

Normally when I want to game, I play on the PC. Warcraft, Diablo, Myth, Myth II, civ3 are my big games. Maybe WoW when it comes out. I must admit, I was an Everquest geek =/
No time for that now days! I suggest Myth II if you're bored. It's old but the community owns the rights to it. www.playmyth.net It costs like 3 bucks on ebay for a CD 8) |

I know this thread is older, but you guys might find it interesting. I recently joined a league for Call of Duty and my screen name is /BAD./ Hail Skins. I used to call myself b(*)(*)bies!, but I had to change it because the league doesn't allow "obscene" screen names. I realize the name b(*)(*)bies! won't strike fear into the people you're playing against, but they always remember who I am!
Here is my signature tag... pretty funny stuff!

I've been playing "City of Heroes". As a recovering comic book geek, I find it very entertaining.
I know what you're thinking - comic books, internet, football fan - sorry ladies, I'm taken.

cuz the game looks so kewl and I like how there r thousands of different customizations to make your character more unique. I myself like first person shooters, love hitman 2, the burnout series, an old sega series called shining force, FF, and pc games like warcraft, age of mythology, and medal of honor. oh and of course madden or anything football(nfl blitz in the arcade is awesome on the huge screen) and fighting games like soul calibur 2. |

city of heroes is generally cool, i like guild wars, its kinda the same kind of gameplay, but more in depth (i screwed with the alpha tech demo, its not out yet... its made by some ex-blizzard employees... those warcraft/starcraft/diablo guys), so when it comes out, i'll be into that. Meanwhile i've been playing with UT2004 (great game, if you have xbox, unreal championship 2, and mech assault2/halo2 when they come out), also played around with silent storm 2, KOTOR etc and liked those...
PS, haven't played much madden, 2k4's redskins team sucked, I will be buyying 2005 for sure though Lavar may even have his name on his jersey... |

yeah, city and guild wars may have the same people working on game design, cause the way they work and play is very much the same. They're more like diablo in that the main world is like a big chat room, you find some friend and then go do a mission with just those friends (not 3000 other people)... you won't have 300 person seige warfare, but it solves a lot of the mmorpg problems... the games are also both based more on skill than how many hours you spend killing rabbits or whatever. City is a bit simpler though in that you don't have to worry about armor, inventory management, crafting etc... and if you like fighting other players, the villians expansion will be out soon, and it'll probably be very close to the type of player vs player in guild wars
