Agreed. JG has put up with unacceptable behavior before, ie Dexter Manley & Tony Stewart. But, both of these guys, I think, are viewed by Gibbs as good people beneath their outward actions. Ware on the otherhand, was deemed indispensible, so why not make an example out of him?

Reports said (and Crisp confirmed, I think) that Ware looked out of shape and slow in minicamp. Now he gets in the papers with a drunk and disorderly. Of course Gibbs cut his ass imediately. What, he's gonna keep Ware around after all his talk about character?

Sure, you might make an exception with a great player (ie, Dexter Manley), but this punk? It's a no-brainer.

See ya, Kevin.

I think he could have won the starting H-Back spot this season, too bad we cut him. Mark my words, future pro bowler

No way. Did nothing great. Just an average (barely) player.

Heh, just realized I have a pretty big typo in one of my earlier posts up there.

joe c said he was a complete hothead in last years camps, so i think this was really a great opportunity for gibbs to make an example (since ware wasn't going to get roster anyways)....

Redskins: Ware released

The News
Four days after he was arrested for public intoxication, the Redskins released tight end Kevin Ware. The second-year player already faced an uphill battle to make the club due to five offseason tight end/H-back signings.

Our View
Joe Gibbs doesn't tolerate such actions?!? Shocking. [end sarcasm]

Ok, I was hoping so. Sarcasm doesn't get translated into bytes very well sometimes. :p

Just imagine if Spurrier was still the coach (God help us). Ware would still be on the roster.

Gibbs, will not tolerate this kind of garbage and they had no choice but to set precedent.
