Charles Robinson says Patten is most likey to be cut

If I never read another "he's getting paid too much to be a ..." column, I'll die happy.

Two things wrong with those sentiments.

The numbers don't add up in an expanded salary cap era. So Patton has a base of $1.035 million. So what? The cap is right about nine digits.
He has the most and best experience in a spread offense. If it isn't going to hurt the team financially to keep him (and it isn't - they'd save less than a million because of accelerated bonuses) they would be downgrading significantly in actual WR experience and skill by jettisonning Patten, presuming Jacobs or Thrash would be regularly filling his role.

And that, good friends, is why I hate people.
