For Pastabelly Fans
I picked this one up at profootballtalk.com. Seems they have a beef with Lenny too:
DEFENDING LEN?
Most regular readers of this site know that we serve a quasi-watchdog for the NFL print and broadcast media, primarily because no one else really has the time or desire to cover such matters -- and secondarily because it allows us to twist the tail from time to time of guys like ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli. But we're actually coming to Len's defense today, sort of. It seems that Rob Reischel and/or Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel have relied without attribution upon a portion of Len's recent article regarding the decline of post-June 1 free agency. On Wednesday, we called Len out for mistakenly suggesting that safety Rodney Harrison was cut by the Chargers after June 1, 2003. Pasquarelli's quote: "Players such as standout strong safety Rodney Harrison -- released by San Diego in June 2003 and quickly snapped up by the New England Patriots, whom he helped lead to a Super Bowl title that season -- won't be available." Writes Reischel and/or Rosiak: "So don't look for players such as Rodney Harrison -- who helped lead New England to a pair of Super Bowl titles after being cut in 2003 -- to hit the street today." Again, Harrison was released in February 2003 and signed in early March. So shame on you guys for borrowing Len's shoddy work product without giving due credit. He worked hard to screw that one up, and you should have disclosed that you got the info from his article and not from your own failure to know and/or check the facts. |

Re: For Pastabelly Fans
that's kinda funny... too bad journalism and plagarism are so intertwined in print media now too many deadlines, not enough research and fact checking.

Re: For Pastabelly Fans
I agree i just ran across an article today, http://football.about.com/ i beileve that was it where it talks about sean's case and the guy states that sean pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges, instead of the non constest that he did. I feel these so called sports analyst should do more research before they open there stupid mouths, just because they have a website.

Re: For Pastabelly Fans
The NFL is king. News outlets are going to put out whatever they can if the slightest, insignificant story in the NFL offseason comes up.
By the way, I have a suspicion that ESPN's overall ratings on TV and radio take a slight dip after football season, and begin to eek up once training camp starts. Anyone else agree? |
