I do agree with you, the injuries are a factor. However if we use him the right way, special packages, situations and such, I think he can contribute well and stay healthy all the way through.

The main thing is that if we were to sign him, it wouldn't be viewed as a major focal point of our defense and he's not trying to set a stupid record (Bruce Smith). He'd be here to help put us over the top, that's what matters most.
Do you really think Seau is going to come in and be a leader on our team? He's fiery and passionate, which guys will surely take to. But leader? I don't think so, I don't think he can challenge Marcus Washington as the leader amongst the LBs. And then there's Renaldo Wynn, who the defense all looks up to as a leader in the locker room. You can't have that many "leaders", Seau would have to come in and take a back seat to the leaders who are already here. He'll have to fall in line.

Now that's not to say that he couldn't play the role of the good soldier. And he probably could teach Rocky a thing or two about offensive tendencies. But his skills are the main problem in my opinion. They're just too eroded at this point, and he's way too prone to injury. I'd rather see us focus on trying to develop the younger players. Junior Seau is definitely not going to be a difference maker for us this year in any way, shape, or form.
