Karon Riley

I didn't get to see the Cinci game but listened to it on Redskins Radio and the guys in the booth were singing Rileys praises. I haven't seen a mention of him on the board so I'm wondering what you guys who saw the game think of him?

Re: Karon Riley

I have to admit I never heard of him. But I heard he got 2 sacks.

Re: Karon Riley

Karon (he likes to be called K-ron) is the guy I got paired up with at golf on the beach blitz so I've been watching him pretty close.

He looks like a good pass rusher, better than I expected. 2 sacks as mentioned before. The coaches will be looking at what he didn't do well and see if he fixes it.

I noticed that he got caught up inside on a couple of running plays that bounced to the outside (where he should have been). He needs to be sure to play his assignment first.

General run stopping looked mediocre, but it looked like something that could be coached to him... in other words he is a good tackler that seemed out of position to make the tackle.

I can tell you the guy has heart and passion for the game (of football, not golf:cheeky-sm). He seemed genuine when he said it was an honor to be playing for Gibbs. I'll be looking forward to seeing him in the game tonight.

Re: Karon Riley

You mentioned the Beach Blitz which sounds cool to hang with the players. But what about, see Im thinking about going to the Art Monk camp, im 26 Ill spend some money to hang with Art and sharpen my skills at the same time I wonder what the age limit on that is????????

Re: Karon Riley

Karon Riley will more than likely not make this team. If you read the article about him in the news thread section of this website you'll see where Greg Williams says he got two sacks against guys the bengals are gonna cut, but can he do it against 1st stringers. The article also says he is a former 4th rounder for the bears but he at one time was a projected 1st rounder. The thought of that is intriguing, but i don't think he'll be around in two weeks. Sorry.

He probably won't be around unless he beats out a backup LB on special teams play and they decide to keep an extra DL instead of an LB, he beats out a D-lineman as a backup down lineman and situational rusher (Clemons is gone), or someone gets hurt. I thought there was no chance when I first met him, now I think there is a chance... but still against the odds.
