Man, I'm so sick of this argument. True, George Preston Marshall, was a racist POS, but he's long gone, and his legacy is burning in hell with him. The Redskins are so over him and his ideas. I personally don't think the name is that offensive. Like my man said, ask her if she thinks that the "Fighting Irish" are offensive. How about the Cleveland Indians? No one mentions them, and their mascot looks damn near like a Sambo. In fact the Redskins' Lone Star Deitz mascot is, in my opinion, one of the most respectable looking Native American mascots I've ever seen. I also get mad when CERTAIN Native Americans compare the Redskin name to the word NI@@&#R, and I'm Black so the censors know, so I have every right to comment on it. The name "Redskin" couldn't have a smackerel of the connotation that that word does. Furthermore, most Natives aren't offended. So you need to tell your girlfriend to sit down somewhere, or would she rather go for a team who's mascot symbolizes people who have degraded Native Americans on a regular basis: COWBOYS...
