Although toughness is certainly a virtue for a NFL quarterback, I think we have to keep his health in mind. We don't have anything behind Brunell. So he, at age 36, can't be pulling Leftwich's and stepping into injury. Just can't happen. Yes, he throws off his back foot more than I'd like and loses accuracy, but keep the big picture in mind here; he needs to make it through the season.
I get the feeling that if we are in a tied Super Bowl in the 3rd quarter and Santana breaks free on a deep post, Brunell will step right into a D Lineman to deliever the ball in stride.
