Free agency and the cap changed that my friend.

There's no such thing as a Patriot for life, or a Eagle for life, etc., anymore.

Better they make these mistakes now than in December. This loss hurt me 100 times worse though because my girlfriend is a Giants fan and i still have yet to hear the end of it

Hey, Chris Samuels proclaimed himself "Redskin for life, Baby!" when he signed his contract extension.

Loved his overthrow of portis wide open by 10 yards thank god peirce couldnt catch it. we should didnt need peirce either we have marshall and holdman, is rocky every going to play since we trading extra picks like we always do, not just on special teams maybe could he start on defense. hail to the skins
I'm with you all the way. I've questioned these offseason moves every year but somehow the Skins have managed to be competitive despite watering down the talent. It is finally starting to show. The defensive system is not that great when you don't have the talent to play it. Williams reputation as a defensive guru I think hurts the personnel selection. Its a feeling that anyone can excell in this defense and that isn't so. The secondary stinks, the defensive line can't generate pressure and the linebackers miss too many tackles. But worst than the defense, is the worse Redskin quarterback since Billy Kilmer (okay maybe Heath Shuler). At least Billy Kilmer could wooble the ball 20 yards down the field. Mark Brunnel is horrible. He can't or will not throw the ball downfield. I don't give a crap about risking turnovers, at least keep the other team honest by attempting to throw downfield. I am so tired of looking at dinks and dunks. You have speedteers in Moss, Randle-El, Lloyd and Patten (oops...some idiot decided to sit him and play slow-footed Trash) and your quarterback can't throw the ball 15 yards. God...they reak! It's going to be a long season.

No, Archuleta sucked even when he was sacking Leftwich last week...why? Cause that's all he's good for. He sucked when the Skins signed him. He sucked in St. Louis. He can't cover. Period. He can hit, if he ever gets a shot on you. That's my only complaint, I'm tired of rehashing everyone they got rid of. And NO I don't sing their praises for bringing in overpriced free agents...ever. I liked the Portis deal, I was cool with the Moss deal, but I didn't think it would work as well as it has, I hated when they got Brunell and I like them adding Carter, Lloyd and Randle El. If having an opinion about the moves the team makes makes me a bad fan then I'm guilty as charged. But I'd rather be a bad fan than a sheep who does nothing but praise everything they do.

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.

I can't understand why people still insist on blaming the front office for the acquisitions of the last couple years.

When Coach Gibbs returned it became HIS team. Do you really think Gibbs has been overruled on even ONE decision since he got here? Same goes for GW. This is HIS defense. I'm quite sure Clark, Arch, Carter, etc. were all his decisions. All the front office did was do everything they could from a financial standpoint to get these guys signed up.

I'm not saying we haven't made some bad moves in the last couple years. You guys can debate them to death if you want. But please put the blame or the credit where it belongs - on the coaching staff.

The last bad move I can attribute to the front office was breaking the bank for Lavar instead of Champ. Of course it was a pretty bad move...

If it's any consolation I've heard Coles is being a malcontent in New York. Any New Yorkers who can confirm?

I Would say your right about that other day but it may be in 08 because we have trade almost all of 07 draft away! But I hope that it is always darkest before the dawn.....It's pretty dark right now! Giants 19-3

do you honestly think he has time to personally scout every player they sign (or that he's even good at that, since it's not really his job)?

he has to delegate, he already overhauled the scouting dept. once, but i'm pretty sure vinny and that FO still have a lot of say, simply because he doesn't have time to go over 800 college players and 200-400 FAs every year.

For me I have never been a Vinny fan so let him go. What he help do to the 49ers well he should be shot! What is wrong with this team is not just one thing. Maybe free agents do get FAT and Happy! You get all that green and are not hungy. One thing for sure something is really wrong!

I'm not saying that Gibbs and GW personally scout every player or that Vinny and co. have no say in the process.

But the chain of command is clearly defined on this team and when it comes to personnel decisions I'm quite sure Danny and Vinny are a few rungs down on the ladder.

Coles is sulking--yes it is true. On sportsradio up here they were attributing a lot of this to the fact that he had a lot of family/friends in the stands--since he is from Jacksonville--and the Jets stunk up the joint in front of his peeps.
