To his credit, he was behind All-Pro Neil Rackers in Arizona, and filled in nicely for him last year when he was hurt. They waited until the end of training camp to release him, after all the teams had secured who would be their kicker. And also did well for John Hall last year. He's not a step down by any means, and should be considered a good replacement for Hall.
