Well, the pass rush is about the same -- nonexistant, even with the addition of Andre Carter. Right now, I'd take Ryan Clark and Walt Harris over Archuleta and Kenny Wright. There's two more differences. Griffin, Salave'a and Springs are all a year older, with injuries becoming more commonplace. Marcus Washinton has been far from a disruptive playmaker, Holdman and Marshall are just sorta ... there. So, no. It's not the same defense. This one hasn't stopped anybody but the Texans. |

Re: Stop The Negative
These dipshits will never eat crow. Their job is to hijack every thread into a tirade against Brunell (in addition to hijacking "positive" threads and turning them "negative"). When Brunell sets a record they say it meant nothing. When he has a good game they (mostly) shut up. I only saw one that said he did a good job that day. They can't even shut up on a thread that says "Stop the Negative". You would think that there would be some thread title where the guys who are the "downers" would exclude themselves. Unfortunately, they don't seem to get it. When I look at the Warpath page, 25 threads come up. How many can I read that the d*ldoheads haven't taken over? If he had 500 yds/game for the rest of the year, there would be 1 of 2 options: (1) They won all the games. In this case they would complement other people and not make mention of Brunell. (2) They lose some games. When this happens they would say it was all YAC so his numbers don't mean anything. And one of them has a name that makes me convinced that Patrick Ramsey is on this board.
So if Brunell were able to get 500 yds/game, I would bet that no more than 5 members would admit their mistake. And in the meantime, I'm willing to bet they'll hijack all the threads that they can. As far as Springs goes, the impact should be just as large as CP on offense. Now everybody's out of position. Afterwards they should be playing in their comfort zone and should regain their swagger. A couple more weeks of the new offensive system so they can carry it off in "enemy territory" and they should be good. |

Re: Stop The Negative
Please don't be silly, and don't just focus on one aspect of my post. I'm tired of looking forward to posts by Dallas supporters knowing that they'll be more positive than those posted by (many) Redskin fans.
To the best of my recollection, only one person criticizing Brunell earlier admitted he played well later. And I think you were it. So take pride in your accomplishment, but don't give others credit they don't deserve. On a prior post, you pointed to an article that said Brunell was the worst comeback QB since 1996. (I don't have the location at this time.) Two things stood out: (1) By their criterion, Ramsey is one of the worst, and his record when they could come back in the 4th quarter was 0-11. Brunell is only worse because he has played many more games. (2) QBs get NO credit for maintaining a lead. I disagree with this. I agree if the QB is on a team that can get rushing first downs when the other team knows they will rush. But when some passes are necessary this should also be credited to the QB. One of Brunell's strengths is that he doesn't throw many picks. So to ignore this in his case is significant. And the person I'm referring to is "chief chucking my rat"... oops "spear". Oops, make those all CAPITAL LETTERS. Quote:

-ryan clark is gone and doing very well for pittsburg on the cheap. -lavar is gone and warrick "worse than a trash can" holdman is starting in his place (no, lavar's nothing but average right now, but when we went on that 5-0 run, guess who played well and started every single game?) -prioleau is on IR -springs hasn't really played -DT injuries forced low round rookies into the lineup... and while golston has been okay, he's not griffin. we have wright, rumph, archuleta, carter, holdman, and golston playing which are all downgrades from last year, not to mention rogers subbing for springs. there's NO WAY you go from 9th to 28th due to just one guy. springs coming back is a good thing. vincent at 35 and vet min is probably still better than archuleta, and he should finally give our skins SOME kind of safety coverage. I wish we had moved on buchannon (maybe we did and lost), cause he could really help. He's from the U, but he doesn't like to tackle, so GW may not have even bothered to make the call. I would like to see vincent and springs in the lineup ASAP, as well as more mcintosh and posey and less holdman. more healthy DTs, and more wynn. I'm tired of watching our defense try to play with 8-10 men most downs. carter takes himself out of too many plays, and holdman has a cloak of invisibility arch can't cover anything, and our CBs can only cover half the time.that doesn't even cover the lack of running in play calls or inconsistant play from brunell and co... just a bit bummed cause i'm having a hard time figuring out how we can go 8-2 over the last ten games with this schedule. |
