Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
Duckett should be used in short yardage situations. He's 254 lbs, Mike Sellers is an M&M away from bieng 290 lbs. Put them both in the same backfield and there should be no way we could be stopped on Short yardage plays! All that needs to be done is run lead plays! HAIL from MCUSA!

Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
Riggins always says things without thinking about what he is actually saying. That man has no credibility in my eyes.

Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
I love how Duckett is already a goat and he hasn't carrried the ball more than 10 times.
Let him play. At least use him on short yardage. Oh, that's right, it's Joe Gibbs football and if he played Duckett during goal line Portis won't get his touches. Reminds me of playing high school ball. The upper classmen always started regardless if they could make plays or not.

Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
I think that anyone who criticizes Riggins may need to think before they type. To me, he has never come across as a Woody Paige type (someone who takes positions because the wind changed).
Riggins has forgotten more about football than we collectively know. |

Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
Like him or not, Riggins does a rare thing today's media. He speaks his mind! He does not appear to puss out for fear of reprisal

duckett can be our short-yardage/goal line back IF...................
we ever get into a situation where the defense keeps us in a close game. as of now, we're throwing on 3rd down. as far as portis being on the down-side. you never know with RBs. i'm praying he pulls out as many seasons as some of the emmitt smiths and marshall faulks |

Re: John Riggins asked Gibbs....
Of course CP is the man. I don't think anyone in the entire league would deny that he's the best back we have.
As for Duckett, I don't think he should surpass Betts on the depth chart. Betts has performed acceptably, and he has done his job--what more can you ask for? He was here before Duckett, and that has to count for something. We can't just ignore the fact that he has helped us in the past, and demote him because he isn't rushing like CP. On another note: I'd like to see more of Duckett, so we know what we have. His contract will expire after this year, and we'll need to make a decision about whether to re-sign him. Just like JC, we need to see him in more game-time situations before we can make a decision.
