Re: 49ers leaving San Fran?

he is just saying you should earn your stadium by being a good team, which the 49ers aren't. but i have little room to talk since our defense is worse than the 49ers d

You shouldn't have to earn your stadium by being a good team, the fans are entitled to having a good stadium to sit in when they go to watch games, no matter how shitty their team is. Just because their team sucks shouldn't mean they have to sit in a crappy stadium, they still paid to watch the games and support the team.

Re: 49ers leaving San Fran?

would'nt it also be in the best interest in the leagues for the 49ers to get a new stadium?i think it would.every fan that pays300
dollars to take his wife and kids to the game, deserves a nice stadium to see his team play in good or bad.

I wonder if the NFL will try to get them to adopt the name "Los Angeles 49ers" since they technically won't be in SF anymore. The NFL is pathetically desperate to have an LA team.

Wouldn't make sense. They're still in the SF Bay Area even if they move to Santa Clara. I think the NFL just likes to use LA as leverage for other cities to build new stadium more than they want a team in LA.

No it wouldn't make sense...but I've driven from the Meadowlands to the Bronx (NY City Borough) and they're NOT close.

We know team names don't have to make sense...

LA Lakers (show me the lakes in LA)
Utah Jazz (Mormans are not big jazz fans)
Seattle Seahawks (not even a real bird!)
Tampa Bay Devil Rays (what, did Dr. Suess name the team?)

True but San Fran and LA, is like having a team in Orlando and calling them Miami

Or having a team in Anaheim (state capital, no small city) and calling them Los Angeles. The stupid precedent has been set and we know that the Californians like to do stupid things with naming their teams.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

It would be a really bad PR move to do that. The 49ers are one of their most popular franchises and York has basically stated under no circumstances would the team change the name.
